ISTEP prep Parent Night
Come to an ISTEP prep Parent Night on Thursday, February 27th at 6:00pm at Van.
Family Night
Save the Date! Tuesday, December 17th at 6:30! Wear your pajamas and spend an evening with your Van family! We will read and sip hot chocolate, make keepsake ornaments, and play games. There will be gifts for coming and door prizes! You won't want to miss it!
REACH Parent Meeting!
We will have a parent information meeting for the parents of REACH students K-5 on Thursday, September, 26th at 3:30 in my room at Van. Childcare will be provided.
Kankakee Valley Reading Council
Reading Council is a great organization to join for quality professional development and teacher networking! Our programs this year include:
- Technology Meets Literacy - October 8th @ 4:00 @ Van Elementary School
- Books and Chocolate - January 16th @ 4:00 @ Rensselaer Public Library Meeting Room
- Mentor Texts for Writing - April 24th @ 4:00 @ KV Intermediate School
It is not too late to join! Pay $10 to Bobbi Jo Sammons, our membership chairperson, at the Rensselaer Primary School.

READ to Succeed Program Information
Reading logs have been given to students. Have your child record what he/she read each night and the amount of time he/she read. Once your child reaches 6 hours, turn it in to Mrs. Anderson. Reading logs are due no later than January 31st, but can be turned in any time before that. Six Flags tickets will be issued to those that participate at the end of the school year.
FCS (Fellowship of Christian Students) Club Information
We meet the first Friday of every month, so our meeting dates are as follows:

- Friday, December 6th
- Friday, January 10th
- Friday, February 7th
- Friday, March 7th
- Friday, April 4th
